Introduction to Bright Owl Collections

Welcome to Bright Owl Collections, the blog portion of Bright Owl Edits.

When I was studying architecture in university, I kept a sketchbook. We all did, as a means of jotting down ideas, working on building layouts, and practicing our drawing skills. Looking back through my old sketchbooks now, I may sometimes have written more than I drew. I collected words, observations, interesting phrases and quotes while I was studying and working in Studio. Words have always held great promise for me. They can evoke so much, and I appreciate a finely crafted sentence as much as a carved detail on a classical pediment. My predilection for written expression may have been the despair of my profs in those days (who really wanted me to DRAW), but those sketchbooks can now serve as the inspiration for this blog.

I’ll include quotes that I enjoy, word games, musings on language and proofreading, and maybe the odd pun here and there. I hope you like them!
